Devan's trunk

For several years Devan has wanted to make a steamer trunk. He has finally found some time and means to do it. He has been working on it for the past few weeks and finished it Monday. This thing is awesome! It has a curved top and walnut accents. It is massive; you could probably fit a small adult curled up inside. We haven't decided what to use it for but it will hold a ton. Devan did a wonderful job and is pretty proud of the new skills he is developing as a woodcrafter.

Conference

We hosted our semi-anual conference gathering last weekend. The missionaries came for brunch and then several of the recent converts and newer members of our ward came over for the Sunday morning session of Conference(which is really afternoon here). We really were uplifted and enjoyed hearing from our leaders. Drostan was even able to sit and work on coloring his packet he got in primary. We have been learning about the prophet and apostles in Primary and Drostan was so excited to recognize Pres. Monson and his favorite apostle Deiter F Uchdorf (he loves that he was a pilot).

Drostan loves the missionaries and says when he grows up he is going to be a daddy and a missionary. Hopefully not in that order.

Suprise!

Remember a few weeks ago when I was thinking Drostan's soccer career should be put on hold? Well the last couple of weeks he has proven me wrong. He has cut the apron strings and decided to fly (or run as the case may be) on his own. He runs, he kicks, he scores. The week before last Drostan scored 2 goals: one for our team and one for the other team ;) It's really fun and exciting to watch as he has become the "star" of his team, which really isn't that hard concidering most of them play like Drostan did.  But look at him go... Yeah!!
